Boston Aikikai is an affiliated dojo of the United State Aikido Federation (USAF).
Boston Aikikai is a friendly environment in which to begin or continue training, as personal limits, boundaries, and injuries are always respected. The dojo offers aikido for adults and youth, as well as iaido classes, seven days a week (see calendar).
Classes at Boston Aikikai are appropriate for practitioners of any skill level, from the just-beginning to senior students. Beginners are welcome at any sessions or seminars, and visitors are always welcome to watch classes.
History of BA
Boston Aikikai was founded in 2010 by Vu X. Ha (6th degree) to offer aikido training in the area south of the Charles river. We held our first classes in the Roslindale Community Center before moving on to the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center. In 2013, we opened our first dedicated dojo space in Jamaica Plain. We relocated to Hyde Park in 2019, and many members worked together to build a spacious and vibrant traditional dojo.
Since our founding, we have been proud to welcome students from all around the world, of ages ranging from 5 to 85, and of all levels of experience, from new beginners to advanced practitioners.
